The role of EPIIC in informing change in integrated care: Professor Yannis Pappas EPIIC Chair

'Networking and partnership emerge as essential components for driving meaningful change within the health and care systems. By fostering connections among researchers, healthcare practitioners, commissioners and policymakers, EPIIC serves as a platform to share insights, research findings, and best practice. Most importantly, our university partnership, EPIIC has produced invaluable evidence that can inform effective commissioning and practice. As we gather in this 3rd annual EPIIC Conference to discuss the important achievements of our universities, it is crucial to recognise that the strength of our care systems lies in our ability to work together, leveraging our collective expertise to create a resilient and adaptive health ecosystem. Collaborative efforts can bridge gaps in knowledge and resources, facilitating the development of integrated care models that enhance patient outcomes. Our universities have a crucial role to play in supporting these regional and national efforts. Special thanks to our colleagues at the University of Essex for hosting this conference.'

Professor Victoria Joffe DEAN OF INTEGRATED HEALTH AND CARE PARTNERSHIPS, UNIVERSITY OF ESSEX

‘We are delighted to be hosting the third EPIIC conference on Facilitating Transformation in Healthcare in a World of Change through Partnerships and Collaboration. EPIIC represents Eastern Partnership for Innovations in Integrated Care involving six higher education institutions in the East of England: Anglia Ruskin University, University of Bedfordshire, University of East Anglia, University of Essex, University of Hertfordshire and University of Suffolk. EPIIC was born out of funding from NHS England to secure and magnify these universities as anchor institutions to support innovation, research and delivery of health and social care to meet the ever-changing needs of the community. Amidst significant changes and upheavals in the healthcare sector, and through strong partnership working and capacity building, EPIIC addresses inequalities in health and care and directly targets the needs of our community. We do this in close collaboration with our colleagues across the Integrated Care Systems and with workforce development, research and innovation and student involvement as key drivers. I am so looking forward to meeting you and welcoming you to the University. We have organised an exciting two days of research, innovation and impact, as well as time for networking, exploring new opportunities, fun, and activities! Please do register while places are still available and share this opportunity with your colleagues. It’s going to be a great event, see you all there!’
