The Educator Development Programme is a collaborative initiative between Cambridgeshire & Peterborough ICS and Anglia Ruskin University, designed to strengthen the healthcare education workforce. This programme aims to enhance the skills, knowledge, and professional development of educators across the ICS, ensuring they are well-equipped to support learners and contribute to a sustainable healthcare workforce.
Through a unified and structured approach, the programme will address key gaps in educator training by offering tailored learning pathways, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. It will support the delivery of high-quality education, ensuring that learners—whether students, apprentices, or professionals in training—receive the best possible guidance and support. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and development, this initiative will not only improve educator effectiveness but also enhance learner retention, patient care, and workforce sustainability
The Educator Development Programme will create a structured and sustainable approach to educator training, ensuring that professionals across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough ICS have access to the support and resources needed to excel in their roles. By streamlining educator development, this initiative will enhance learner experiences, foster engagement, and improve workforce retention.
A key objective is to personalise learning by providing educators with the tools and strategies to tailor instruction to diverse learner needs. The programme will also strengthen support systems, equipping educators to address learning barriers and provide both academic and pastoral support. Through mentorship and coaching, educators will develop the skills necessary to guide and inspire learners, ensuring a high-quality and engaging educational experience.
By improving workforce preparedness, the programme will contribute to the overall quality of healthcare education, increasing learner retention and supporting career progression. Ultimately, it will create a unified approach to educator development that enhances the quality of education, aligns with workforce planning, and improves patient care outcomes.
